Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Live Darshan India mobile application ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use it. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

We built Live Darshan India to be privacy-friendly. The App does not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any other personal identity information.

1. Information the App accesses

a) Location (optional)
If you tap "Use my location" to find temples near you, the App requests your device's approximate/precise location. This is used only on your device to show nearby temples and to calculate local sunrise/sunset and Panchang times. We do not store your location on any server, and we do not sell it. You can refuse this permission and still use the rest of the App.

b) Camera & Photo Library (optional, iOS & Android)
The "Create Status" feature lets you optionally pick a photo from your gallery or take a new one as a background for a devotional status image, and optionally save the result back to your gallery. These photos are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded anywhere.

c) Notifications (optional)
If you enable aarti reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device. These are generated on-device; no notification data is sent to us.

d) Device & advertising identifiers (via ads)
The App displays advertisements using Google AdMob. To show ads, the AdMob SDK may collect your advertising identifier (Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS — the latter only if you grant App Tracking permission when prompted), device information, general location (derived from IP), and app interaction data. On iOS, you will see Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; choosing "Ask App Not to Track" still lets you use the App exactly the same way, just with less personalized ads. This data is handled by Google in accordance with Google's policies: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

e) Streamed/embedded content

• Live darshan, reels and similar videos are played through YouTube's own embedded player or, for some reels, a direct video stream. When a YouTube video loads, YouTube/Google may collect data as described in the Google Privacy Policy.
• Mantra/chant audio is streamed from public archives (e.g. archive.org).
• Some temple images are loaded from public sources (e.g. Wikimedia).

f) Settings stored on your device
Your preferences (theme, language, accent colour, favourites, fasting streaks, quiz progress) are stored locally on your device using standard app storage. They are not uploaded to us.

2. How information is used

We use the limited information above only to:

• Provide core features (nearby temples, Panchang, reminders, status creation).
• Display advertisements that keep the App free.
• Keep your in-app preferences between sessions.

We do not use it for profiling beyond what ad networks do for ad delivery, and we do not sell your personal data.

3. Data sharing

We do not share personal data with third parties, except the advertising and content providers whose SDKs operate inside the App:

• Google AdMob (advertising) — policies.google.com/privacy
• Google / YouTube (embedded video) — policies.google.com/privacy

4. Children's privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

5. Data security

Network requests use secure (HTTPS) connections. Because the App stores preferences locally and does not maintain user accounts, there is no personal account data on our servers to be breached.

6. Your choices

• You can deny or revoke the Location, Camera, Photo Library, and Notification permissions at any time in your device Settings.
• Android: reset your advertising ID in Settings → Google → Ads.
• iOS: control tracking in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or respond "Ask App Not to Track" when prompted.
• Uninstalling the App removes all locally-stored preferences.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.

Live Darshan India is an independent devotional utility app. Temple names, images and video streams belong to their respective owners. The App aggregates publicly available content and is not officially affiliated with any temple trust unless explicitly stated.
